Bandit Kuck

About four months ago on October 17th, me and Bryce woke up and decided that we wanted a puppy. We had been looking at puppies to adopt for quite some time but we were unsure if the timing was right. Me being the planner that I am strongly believed that there was a lot to think about before we ever thought about getting a puppy. However, that Saturday morning we woke up and as we were looking at Facebook we saw that a friend of ours had just gotten a puppy the day before and in that moment we were so over watching everyone around us get a puppy so we started looking online at pet adoption organizations when we stumbled across CAWS. CAWS happened to be having an adoption day at a PetSmart in Salt Lake that day so we jumped out of bed and headed to Salt Lake!

Online they had a puppy Corgi which we were determined was our dream dog. We were looking up girl puppy names all the way up to PetSmart and had a short list of names picked out. When we got there we told that the Corgi was not going to be at the adoption day event. Disappointing, we walked around and found a lot of great dogs but they were all large breed puppies which we were not interested in/allowed to have at our apartment. I turned around to leave the store when Bryce called me to the very back isle where they were keeping all of the small breed puppies. Lucky for us Bryce saw that back isle before we left the store! I walked up to a crate that had a small Chihuahua in it and Bryce immediately said, "NO Chihuahuas!". I kindly ignored him and looked at the empty crate on the table. There was a bio on the crate for a small 8 month old Chihuahua mix names "Little Man". The very moment I finished reading the bio Little Man's foster mom placed him in the crate. I immediately took him back out and fell in love. Bryce looked slightly annoyed/worried because he knew that I was not going to be putting the puppy down. I handed Bryce Little Man and he held and cuddled him for a few minutes without saying anything. A couple of minutes later Bryce looked at me and said, "Fill out the paperwork." 30 minutes later we left the store with Bandit Kuck! Since we had only picked out girl names we were lost on what to name him but Bryce immediately got stuck on Bandit. I questioned it at first but man did that little pup grow into that name quick! ;)

It's funny, Bryce always said he wasn't a "small dog person" but let me tell you, he is. He loves Bandit SO much and just adores him like he's our baby (Which he is...obvi) So that is how to came to adopt little Bandit Kuck. FYI Bandit rules us and our home. If he isn't getting attention, no one better be getting any attention. Although we have only had Bandit for 4 months, yesterday was his 1st birthday and being the dog obsessed pet owners/parents that we are we had to have a little party for him. He was extremely disinterested in the party had but he was obsessed with ice cream for breakfast and new toys. We sure to love that little pup!
